I Am Thankful For...

People
There are so many people in my life who have helped me to become who I am today and who are great examples to me. I love being able to come home and visit my home ward so that I can see some of these people.

Parents- Of course I need to mention my mom and dad. Without them I would be totally lost! They are great examples and have been so loving and patient throughout my whole life. I am grateful for their sacrifices, love, advice, and all the fun times we've had! Thanks Mom and Dad!

Sister Pickup- She was my laurel adviser and as always been a great example to me. She is always concerned about others and one of the greatest examples of service to me. She is strong and faithful. Even now she still affects me life and I love being able to visit her. Sister Pickup gives some of the best hugs! I will be forever grateful for everything that she has done for me.

Sister Plummer- She was first my primary teacher and then later my laurel advisor after Sister Pickup. She is an example to me of believing in yourself. Her tag phrases "You have got it going on!" and "You are one HOT dog!" Will never leave me! During one of the most trying times of my life her testimony and love helped me to endure.

Mrs. Town- She was my high school English teacher for all 4 years. And my freshman year when Hockinson was just starting out she was my Drama, child development, and English teacher! Without her guidance I probably would've died writing my first college paper. But because Mrs. Town pushed and stretched me writing papers in college has been a piece of cake! Her love of learning and reading really showed and made me enthusiastic to learn also.

Sister Koenig- She is an example of faith, courage, and strength. I have watched her continue living when I would've given up. Her smile and spunk makes me happy every time I see her! She is the mother of 3 boys which I am sure isn't easy! I just love her!

Bishop Hadry- He has been my bishop for the last 2 years or so. He is an example to me of service and loving everyone! He has so many friends and it is because he truly loves people and has a desire to know them and help them. And he has always been willing to help me at school. I am grateful for his sacrifices and for his family's sacrifice. They are truly amazing people.

There are many people in my life who are examples to me and have helped me a long. But these are the few that come to mind right now and who I will be forever grateful for! I am so grateful for the people that the Lord has placed in my path.

Friends
I have been blessed with wonderful friends in my life. They have stood by me through so much and I love them all! But I just want to give a little shout out to some...(in no particular order)

Janelle- I think we've got a true friendship because it has lasted and we're still friends even though we took about a year break! Oh man, I love you, Jo! I love our girl nights, giggling, talking about boys and life. I can't wait to live with you next semester!!! It's going to be a party, I'm glad I get you for a few more months before I'm gone and...you know ;)

G-Never thought we'd be friends but I'm glad we finally got there! I love our phone chats and I miss our walks(thanks for walking even though you didn't always want to) Thanks for making me laugh! And no matter what you know I love ya!

Austin-I knew we'd be friends the moment you said "Jane Austen". Then we guarded each other while playing frisbee and the rest is history! Thanks for putting up with my late night craziness and my Chatty Cathy mode. Thanks for all our music parties and pillow fights.

Britton-Thanks for the hugs! And for smelling good. Thanks for the conversations of all topics, for making your funny voice(I doubt it, I drove), and for your great advice!

Baylee-We haven't been friends for long but I appreciate your words of advice and taking time to talk. Thanks for your silly voice that you do (haha thinking about it makes me laugh) And thanks for coming to Zumba with me!

I Am Thankful For...

FAMILY
My family is wonderful. Last night while on the ride home Luke called me
"Hannah, this is Luke. How soon will you be home?"
"Probably about 45 minutes, why?"
"Because I'm waiting by the window for you"
Aaaaaaah! That is so CUTE! Gosh dang it he's so freaking adorable! I love that he's still at the age where he wants to show his love to me and runs and jumps in my arms when I walk in the door. I am going to soak that up for as long as possible because who knows how long that will last!
So being home is fantastic! I love it, I also forgot how loud it is and that the boys love to throw each other down on the floor and wrestle and hit each other with pillows and if you're not careful you get sucked in too!
So anyways...I am very grateful for my wonderful family. For my 4 little brothers who drive me crazy sometimes but I still love. I am grateful they are all boys, while a sister would've been nice, I love my boys!! I am also grateful for two wonderful parents who have taught me so much and who have helped me to get where I am today. I would not be who I am without their love and guidance. This semester I have been reminded over and over again how lucky I am to have been born into this family. As I visited with and learned about juvenile delinquents I realized that so many, almost all, have come from broken and nonfunctional homes. Homes where the parents taught them to steal and introduced them to drugs and alcohol and were abusive. Daily, I am so thankful that I was born into a family that had the gospel and lived the principals of the gospel. I have been truly blessed. I am thankful for my family.

I got nothing...(for a title)

One more day of classes, a final, and then I get to go HOME!!!! WHOOP WHOOP! I am so pumped! Thanksgiving break is going to be fabulous! I can already smell the turkey, sugar rolls, and all the other yummy food (metaphorically because right now with this BLASTED stuffy nose I can't smell anything...)

Currently I am reading The Hobbit. I originally read this at the age of 11 and boy, I didn't really appreciate it. I struggled through the language of Tolkien and barely got the basic storyline but now, I LOVE it! It's so good! And I have enjoyed discussing it in YA Literature. I was talking with a friend about this and he said "as I have gotten older I have really begun to appreciate GOOD literature. And I just think Thank you for writing this amazing book" I agree completely. Isn't it fabulous? I love literature!

It didn't snow this week HALLELUJAH! It snowed a couple weeks ago, and if you know me then you know I wasn't too happy about it. But this week, while cold, was snow free!

I graduate next semester. Next semester I GRADUATE from college. It's crazy, exciting, and a little, no a lot, overwhelming.

I have just decided that next week I am going to do a blog every day about something I'm Thankful for. Ooooh, I just love Thanksgiving. It's my favorite Holiday! And I'm going HOME!! to WASHINGTON! I have already told Mom to make sure she doesn't have other pressing plans because I want her all to myself! (wow..that sounds selfish) And the boys and I will party all week! Dad will give me a big bear hug(no one gives them like him) and we will talk talk talk.

Well, Juvenile Delinquency is waiting for me. STUDY STUDY STUDY!

Okay...REALLY?!

Dear Extreme PDA Couple,
Do you really think that it is necessary or appropriate to gaze longingly into each others eyes, pet, kiss, whisper sweet nothings, and nibble ears during the adult session of stake conference? Let me answer you with a no, No, No, NO, and again a RESOUNDING NO!!!! Do you not realize that you are in a huge auditorium filled with people trying to receive spiritual insight? What really makes you think that this public display of affection is appropriate?! Are you really so in love that you are blind to one hundred other people sitting around you? If you really wanted to suck each others' faces off you could have found a deserted parking lot or somewhere other than stake conference!! And let me just say that I know I am not the only one who was distracted by this little love scene. The older couple behind you was also quite distracted, I could tell and what about the boy sitting next to you? So next time please find somewhere else to display your undying and lusting love for each other. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Disgusted Onlooker

Pretty Sure the Goldfish are Possessed and other ramblings...

So we have 4 goldfish that sit on an end table in our living room and I am pretty positive that they are possessed. Why? You may ask...well because as I am typing all 4 are at the top of the water, facing different corners, moving their mouths in weird ways. Now, they do this on a regular basis it it's just creepy. They're supposed to swim around their bowl like cute little fishies...oh gosh and now they are all facing the same way and it looks like they're paying tribute to something. AHHHHH! Possessed Goldfish! Moving On....before I freak myself out...

This week was a fabulous week. And not because it was my birthday and there was cake a yummy food but it was fabulous because I have the most AMAZING friends. I had so many people wish me Happy Birthday on Wednesday and then on Friday I was surrounded by all my close friends. Wow, I am so blessed. I was talking with a friend about how loved I felt and he said that was the best thing about birthdays, being reminded of the friends you have and how loved you are. And that was definitely a reminder that I needed! Lately I just have not been feeling the love. So while usually birthdays are not looked forward too as we grow older, this one was very much needed. I am so grateful for my friends! Thanks for being awesome, understanding, and always looking out for me. I'd be lost without you!

In just 2 weeks I will be home in Washington!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is the best holiday EVER! I can't wait for turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, pie...and what I've really been craving SUGAR ROLLS made by Grandma Julie, because no one can make them like her. And it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without them. So they better be there...just saying. Also, I can't wait to see my family! I've missed them like crazy this semester. Can't wait to hug them and kiss them all (yep boys, you better start preparing, there is no use in trying to hide!) and stay up late with my bros. Maybe a little Lord of the Rings? Please say yes!

The internet has been off and on all weekend and it's beginning to drive me INSANE!

My family is awesome! Not only was I reminded that I have friends this week but I was reminded how much my family loves me too. Being in a juvenile delinquency class has really made me appreciate my family even more. I am so blessed to have been born into a functional, reliable family that taught me good values. Parents who raised me in a good environment and gave me opportunities to learn and grown in a safe place. So many children now don't get that luxury and it definitely shows in our society and it breaks my heart. So Thank you Mom and Dad. I love my brothers. They're the best.

I have discovered a new amazing thing that has changed my life...a diffuser and a blow dryer! It makes my hair all wavy and cute and I've never had so many compliments on my hair and how CUTE I look than when I have used it the past couple days...It's just fabulous!

Books are the best things ever! Yesterday I went to a used book store and Barnes and Noble in Idaho Falls. And boy, was I in heaven. Haha, I'm such a nerd but who cares! I'm so excited to read the 5 books I bought and I've still got 3 others from my last trip to the bookstore that need to be read. Oh I would die without books...

Well, I think you will be relieved to know that the goldfish are currently acting normal...And I can't wait for this next week. It will be a great week! Why? Because I have decided it will be! :)
